Defective parts / reporting and replacement
A part that failed in manufacture gets replaced. We find out which by checking it against your load sheet.
This covers every part we sell: 24 V LED strip lights and the 48 V long-run reel, aluminium channel and diffusers, the 24 V LED power supply range, solderless connectors, feed leads, controls and both kits. The warranty term for each part is written on the quote you accepted. This page explains how a claim moves and what we will not cover.

Clause 01What counts as a defect
A defect is a fault that was in the part when it left River Road. A COB strip with a dark 50 mm segment straight off the reel. A driver that will not hold 24 V at its rated 80 % working load. A clip connector whose contact does not close on the copper pad. A channel length that arrived bent or with a torn flange.
Wear from being installed wrong is not a defect. That is not us being difficult. It is the difference between a part that was bad and a system that was built outside its numbers, and the load sheet tells us which one we are looking at.
Clause 02How to report it
Email [email protected] or call +1 (204) 555-4462. Send four things:
- The part code, for example ZV-S24C or ZV-D100, and your quote or order reference.
- A photo of the fault, lit if it is strip. A phone photo is fine.
- The run as installed: length in metres, how many feeds and where they come in.
- For drivers, where it is mounted and how much air it has around it.
Do not cut the strip out and throw it away before we have seen the photo. Half the answers are in how the run was fed.
Clause 03What we check on the bench
We pull your load sheet and compare it with what you describe. If the numbers match and the part still failed, it is ours. Where we need the part back, we tell you how to ship it and we put it on the bench: drivers go on a meter under a measured load, and strip gets burned in on a known-good 24 V or 48 V supply with fresh connectors clipped on.
The failure we see most often is a 24 V LED power supply cooking inside a closed cabinet. The driver was sized right, but it had no air. It flickers within a year, then the run dies. That is covered in Clause 05.
Clause 04Replacement
A confirmed defect gets a like-for-like part shipped to the address on the original order at our cost. Same code, same length. If that code has been withdrawn, we offer the nearest part that fits the same load sheet and say in writing what changed. You are never asked to pay for a replacement of a part we confirmed as defective.
We replace the part. We do not pay for labor, and that includes making good the drywall around a P23 channel. Zavellora does not install and does not price installation.
Clause 05What is not covered
- A driver loaded past 80 % of its rating, or mounted with no ventilation.
- Strip fed further than its single-feed length: 10 m for 24 V parts, 20 m for the ZV-S48L.
- Strip cut anywhere other than the printed mark, or bent tighter than its channel allows.
- Solderless LED strip connectors reused after being opened, or fitted to strip of a different width.
- Water damage. None of the channels we sell are rated for wet locations.
- Parts mixed with another supplier's driver or controller that we did not put on your sheet.
