We are a parts supplier, not an installer and not a manufacturer: we choose the parts, check them on our own bench, match them on a load sheet and ship them.
Why 24 V and 48 V
Same watts, half the current, a quarter of the loss.
A 5 m run of 10 W/m strip draws 50 W. At 12 V that is 4.2 A through copper traces a few microns thick. At 24 V it is 2.1 A. At 48 V, 1.04 A. Voltage drop along the strip itself scales with current, and the power lost scales with the square of it. So the far end of a 12 V run goes amber and dim past about 5 m, and people keep buying it for 8 m kitchens.
We stopped arguing and stopped stocking it. Our 24 V LED strip lights run 10 m on one feed. The ZV-S48L 48V LED strip long run goes 20 m on one feed with no visible fade, which covers a whole hallway cove or a restaurant bar front without a second driver cupboard.
The cost of this rule is that we lose some orders. Someone with 12 V drivers already in the wall will go elsewhere. That is fine.
A 100 W driver gets 80 W. Not 95.
Most flicker we get asked about is a driver cooking inside a cabinet with no air. A constant-voltage LED strip power supply 24 V that runs at its full rating sits near its thermal limit all evening. The electrolytic capacitors dry out. Within a year the output ripples, the strip flickers, then the run goes dark.
So LED strip driver sizing here is fixed: load divided by 0.8, rounded up to the next unit we stock. 72 W of strip needs 90 W of rating, so it gets a 100 W driver. 85 W of strip needs 106 W, so it gets the 150 W unit or two 100 W units on split feeds. There is no "it'll be fine".
Every driver is powered up on the bench and read with a meter at no load and at its sheet load before it goes in the box. Output voltage within the maker's tolerance, no audible buzz.
Every strip reel is lit end to end off one feed. We look at the far end against the near end on a black board. A reel with a dead segment or a colour shift does not ship.
New parts burn in on the board under the window for days before we add them to the catalog. That is the photograph at the top of this page.
What we actually do
We pick parts that work together and write the sheet before the box ships.
We sell 15 parts in six categories: LED strip (COB and SMD2835 at 24 V, long-run at 48 V), aluminium channel and an opal diffuser, two drivers, clip connectors and 18 AWG feed leads, a 0-10V module and a tunable-white set, and two kits. That is the whole catalog, and it is short on purpose.
Every sale is an inquiry. You send run lengths and where the power comes in. We reply by email with a load sheet, a parts list with quantities and a written quote in USD. There is no cart, no card field and no price on the site. We cut strip and channel to length when asked.
We do not install, we do not send anyone to site, and we do not touch mains wiring. That is work for a licensed electrician.
How the team works
One counter, one bench, every sheet checked twice.
- 01The person who writes your load sheet is the person who answers when you ring about it. No handover to a call queue.
- 02A second person rechecks the arithmetic on every sheet before the quote goes out. Feed drop, driver rating, quantity of reels. It takes minutes and it catches the one-in-twenty slip.
- 03We answer the question you should have asked. If your plan hides a driver above a drywall ceiling with no access, the reply says so before it says anything about price.
- 04We do not publish a headcount or a star rating. Judge us by the sheet. The calculator uses the same formula.
