We sell parts and size them. We do not send anyone to install them. If you need an electrician for the mains side of the driver, hire a licensed one locally.

What makes a sheet come back right the first time

Most inquiries that need a second round are missing one of these. The feed point is the one people forget.

  • 01Every run, in metres, separately. Three runs of 2.4 m are not the same job as one run of 7.2 m. Separate runs can share a driver if the feeds are short, but each needs its own lead, and we count leads.
  • 02Where the power comes in. The distance from the driver to the first strip decides the wire gauge. 4 m of 18 AWG at 3 A drops about 0.5 V, which is 2.1 % on 24 V. Past 3 % we move you to 16 or 14 AWG, or a second feed.
  • 03Where the driver lives. A driver shut in a cabinet with no air runs hot. Most flicker we get asked about is exactly that. Tell us the space and we say whether it needs a vent or a different spot.
  • 04How you want to dim it, if at all. Phase dimming from an existing wall dimmer needs the ZV-D150P driver. A 0-10V control needs the ZV-M010 module. Guessing here is the second most common reason for a return.
  • 05What the channel sits in. Shelf underside, drywall ceiling, inside corner of a wardrobe. That picks between the P16, P23 and P45 channel, and the P23 has to be on site before the drywall is taped.

What comes back in your inbox

A load sheet and a parts list with quantities. Not a brochure and not a sales call.

The sheet shows each run with its length, the strip we picked and its watts per metre, the total load, and the driver it lands on. A 100 W driver gets 80 W. Not 95. If your total comes to 84 W, the sheet says 150 W driver or two feeds, and shows the arithmetic so you can check it.

Under that is the feed: wire gauge, distance, current, the drop in volts and in percent. If a run needs a second feed, the sheet says where to put it. Then the parts list, each line with a code like ZV-S24C, the unit it is sold in and the price in USD.

For under-cabinet work up to 6 m we often point at the under cabinet LED strip kit instead of loose parts, because it is already matched. For a 12 m cove or a warehouse shelf line we will steer you to 48 V strip for the long run, which does 20 m on one feed.

Before you hit send

Can I just buy a reel without a load sheet?

Yes. Put the code and the quantity in the form, say "no sheet", and we quote the parts. We will still flag it if the driver you listed is too small for the strip you listed. That check takes us two minutes and saves a return.

I already have 12 V strip. Can you supply a driver for it?

No. We do not stock 12 V anything. If your runs are under 5 m and the strip works, keep it and buy a 12 V driver locally. If the far end is going amber, that is voltage drop and the fix is 24 V strip, which we do sell.

Is the price on the quote final?

It is what we will charge if you confirm it in writing while the quote is open. Change a length or a quantity and the sheet is reworked and re-priced. The basis for every part is in the catalog: per 5 m reel, per 2 m length, per unit, per pack.

Who is this not for?

Anyone after colour-changing RGB party strip, or someone to come out and fit it. We make continuous white light lines on 24 V and 48 V and we ship the parts. Electricians and cabinet shops with repeat work should read the installers page first.
